Starspeed achieves Major Milestones for Penzance Helicopters.
We are proud to share two key developments that mark significant progress for the Penzance Helicopter Service to the Isles of Scilly, operated by Starspeed:
Expansion of Fleet with Third S-76C++
We are excited to tell you that we have a third Sikorsky S-76C++ helicopter on the way to meet increasing passenger demand!!
The aircraft is due to enter service early Autumn, further strengthening the reliability and flexibility of this vital helicopter lifeline link to the Isles of Scilly.
UK CAA Base Maintenance Approval
We also have recently received approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority to perform Base Maintenance here at Penzance Heliport. This major milestone will enhance the operational resilience of our fleet and enable us to create jobs to grow our engineering team.
Patrick Hansen, Luxaviation Group CEO, commented:
"We are proud to invest in the future of the Penzance Helicopter Service. These enhancements reflect our commitment to maintaining dependable regional air transport and reflect the full weight of our aviation expertise to ensure long-term success for this essential service. The Isles of Scilly deserve world-class connectivity, and we’re here to deliver just that.”
Dave Page, Penzance Heliport/Penzance Helicopters Base Manager also said:
“This is a major step forward for Penzance Helicopters and the Islands. This extra support of a third aircraft and base maintenance to support the S76 fleet, will help to expand this lifeline service to the Isles of Scilly. The expansion of our two routes to St. Mary’s and Tresco is needed and is now possible.
I am extremely proud of all the team who have been involved in making this happen.”
